Guided Journeys
Guided Journeys on Pause for 2023
Have you ever wanted to go on a hike or a camping trip in the woods but haven’t felt like you were equipped or skilled enough? Do you want to gain confidence in seeing the natural world as a home away from home? Do you want to learn basic outdoor skills in a supportive learning environment with others?
A little practice goes a long way, and slow and intentional introductions to the wilderness is a great way to start. Wild Heart will encourage you to step away from our world of distractions and hyper-productivity and seek to find a healthier balance. Wild Heart works to support you in practicing more of what it feels like to be unplugged and in relationship with the elements around us. Wild Heart seeks to foster a safer place where one may experience the woods and waters of our region with little experience but room to grow.
Part of a group that wants to explore a guided journey together? Do you work with youth and want to incorporate more outdoor learning, getting out of the classroom and into natural spaces? Want to organize a special hike with a theme and topic that fits your interest?
Reach out to Wild Heart to work collaboratively on getting outside together.

“While I was fortunate to be taken by family into the deep woods as a kid, I never learned the technical skills that are needed to feel confident and safe in venturing out on my own. I didn’t know how to hang a bear pack, perform basic wilderness first aid, use a camp stove, tie effective knots, nor felt sure whether I would be skilled enough to handle other challenges should they arise.
Then came Alisa. I left feeling so inspired that the following year I took the initiative to set one up myself and brought along a friend who, like me the year prior, had never experienced nor known how to do this. They too had an amazing time.”
